Welcome to Forty Anchors Farm! Our Icelandic sheep are born and raised on our farm in the mountains of far Northern California.
Forty Anchors sheep breathe in the clean mountain air, drink pure mountain water, and eat wild grass, shrubs, grass hay, minerals, and even Icelandic kelp.
Icelandic sheep are one of the oldest and purest sheep breeds in the world, dating back over 1100 years! We support the future of this heritage breed by keeping our flock purebred Icelandic and networking with other breeders around the world.
Our 2023 lambs were the first group we raised and processed without vaccinations, after receiving requests from local customers. We do not use hormones, antibiotics, or feed grain. Our animals are humanely raised, and everything is done as naturally as possible around here! We keep it simple.
We love hearing from our customers!
"The lamb chops were superb, beautifully layered with fat, cut thick, and melted in your mouth. The mild lamb flavor is delicious! Thank you, Katina and Matt, for raising a top-grade product!"
